It's Me Again Lord

                                                             It's me again Lord
                                                             thanking you for another day
being able to get out of bed
is a blessing enough to pray

                                                             Lord I sometimes wonder
why I deserve anything at all
                                                             I stumble and fall everyday
and feel so unworthy and small

                                                             But yet you're always there
through the good and the bad
                                                             wiping away every tear
such a comfort when I'm sad

When I lay down at night
I know I can count on you
to keep me safe from harm
                                                              just like you always do

                                                              Lord I can never forget
                                                              your son on that cross
the pain he suffered and endured
for sinners like me that was lost

The pain you must have felt
as he walked up Calvary's Hill
                                                              is plenty enough for me
to cling to a promise so real

With a loving father as you
                                                              how can anyone ever deny
                                                              without you I couldn't walk
there'd be no need to try

Well I'll go for now Lord
but I won't be gone very long
I'm just a talk and a prayer away
I could never make it for long

                                                               Susie Swanson,2012

This past Friday Night a tornado swept through our little town and left behind a path  of destruction...We are all so grateful that there were no casualties and the injuries were minor compared to some places where people lost their lives... Me and my family were very blessed and fortunate, we didn't get a direct hit..
The last time a tornado touched down here was during that awful outbreak of 1974 .. Four lost their lives back then..Our town and communities have  always come together to help in times of need, and this is no exception.. Resources are coming in from every direction and for that we all are humbly grateful...
As everyone knows last week was a very bad week for tornadoes across the country and so many lost their lives..It seems this spring is already setting up to be a very bad season for storms and tornadoes.
Just like all others we will pick ourselves up and start over again and pray for better times and days ahead..
Please help me , (as i know most already are) and pray for the ones that are in worse shape and lost love ones..May God Bless ..Susie

  1. How could we ever make it without the care of our loving Father? My thoughts and prayers are with so many who've lost so much last week. I'm thankful you and your family and community are safe, but I know you grieve for others not so fortunate. May God bless you with strength in the days ahead. He will not fail us!

  2. Hi Susie, your poem tonight is so heartfelt and beautiful. It is so comforting to know that our Father is always there, just waiting to hear the thoughts and feelings of our heart. I am so glad that the tornado missed your home and that you were all safe. My prayers and thoughts are with all those who have lost so much.

We have all had a quiet day, doing some spring cleaning. The dirt road that leads from our house to the main highway turned into a big mud puddle with all those storms the last few days. Two of our neighbors got stuck in it this morning and our next door neighbor had to pull them out with his tractor. So we decided to all stay in today and not risk it. I hope you have a nice evening tonight and rest well! Delisa :)

  6. I am so glad you and your family are all safe! You are right, looks like this might be a bad Spring (tornados) since they have already started so early...
We live about 40 miles from Tuscaloosa, AL so I have seen so much close to have I really have a fear of storms now. I have always been afraid, the outbreak of 1974 that you mentioned hit the town my grandparents live in, Guin, AL. Luckily they were unharmed, they took cover in their basement and their house didn't get any damage. I was 4 years old at the time and always spent lots of time at their house, thank goodness I wasn't there during that.
I wish so bad we had a storm shelter to get in. We live in a older home and we do have a root cellar underneath the kitchen floor and that is where we would go BUT with those really big tornadoes you hear stories of people being sucked up out of basements, scares me to death to think of that.
My heart just breaks for those who have lost their homes, but most of all those who have lost family members. I pray for them and pray for all our safety as tornado season approaches.

  8. We were lucky too and only got a short lived thunderstorm. Our preacher preached about praying a few weeks ago. He talked about not going to him just when times are bad. He said God likes you to come and visit and talk. I can't remember his exact words, but kinda like friends and neighbors, God gets lonely for us and welcomes visits from us to just sit and talk.

  9. I do feel that the Lord is walking with me each day. I sing old hymns a lot of times when I'm working; it seems to bring me closer to Him.

These storms are getting too close for comfort! Last year we had tornados in our county; hope there isn't a repeat! The destruction and grief is just beyond words!

A tornado hit our county on Wed. night last week.. Luckily, our area was spared... Very scary though...

    Prayers for ALL.
