Spring's Parade
The sun arose this morning
against a clear, blue sky
The birds sing a new song
a sign that spring is nigh
Trees awaken from their sleep
and long winter's rest
Tulips raise their little heads
all fancy, frilly and dressed
Meadows are green and lush
sparkling with morning dew
Daffodils join the parade
of spring's march brand new
Dogwoods will soon reign
in snow covered bloom
Honeysuckle will cast a spell
of sweet, fragrant perfume
A fresh and welcome breeze
spring is such a thrill
Winter's last whimsical stroll
bows down to kneel

DeleteHi Susie! What a beautiful poem, it really captures the first moments of spring! I love the blue bird pictures. Our back door has a window in it, that looks out onto a beautiful little ornamental pear tree. I was getting my morning bowl of cereal and happened to glance out. I noticed that the tree had blossomed all over with little white flowers and sitting in the tree were six chubby blue birds. It was such a wonderful sight. Thank you so much Susie for you kind concern and the comments you left for me about Barkley. Everyone's encouraging words were very comforting. I'm so glad you liked the little gift box, I had so much fun putting it together! I hope you have a restful evening ahead. Delisa :)
ReplyDeleteAwww, thank you Delisa, I love looking out at those pretty little birds and hearing their beautiful song of spring..I'm so happy that your big, lovable Barkley is better..I know you were so stressed and hurting..Take care my sweet friend...
