Oh heart, if it seems that God has not answered
Some anguished cry or earnest prayer
Do not think that he is not mindful
Please try to never despair
Although words themselves be not uttered
Through agony and pain to great to say
Even an unvoiced prayer he hears and answers
If not in your way, in some better way
Better things he promises to give you
Better than you could ask, so be still
And wait, hope and trust in his giving
It will be the answer to his blessed will
Far better than any prayer you could bring
It will surpass the sorrows you bare
Bring peace to your troubled dwelling
No greater feeling can ever compare
Beyond comprehension and all understanding
His love is far greater, unseen by earthly eyes
He can move mountains, walk on water
In him, all hope and our salvation lies
Oh heart, when thou may be troubled
Suffering from pain and bitter loss
Remember the promise he gave to you
Cling everlasting to that old Rugged Cross

Oh Susie, you always know how to make us feel safe and secure in God's care. Truly "in him, all hope and our salvation lies." Beautiful poem!

DeleteLovely poem about strong faith...this morning I came across a friend who just adopted a baby girl and was sharing with me that both she and her husband were so grateful to God that he blessed them with this little bundle of joy, and though their situation is joy filled, they trusted in God to have things unfold for them just as they should. their strong faith was rewarded.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Lise. That is so sweet. I hope they enjoy many years of happiness with their bundle of joy..Their faith will carry them through. Thank you for sharing with me.

ReplyDeleteThank you. Yes he us far better to us all than we deserve.
DeleteSusie,
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely poem this is. Yes, our Lord answers us in His own time, but I believe He always hears us and answers. This is a most beautiful picture and wondering if I may use if someday on a post? I have a nice quote to go with it. I love the part where you said, "His love is far greater, unseen by earthly eyes".....so beautiful.
I hope you are enjoying the summer days, Susie. It rained this week, and it is a rare ocassion for it to rain in a California summer.
Love,
~Sheri
Thank you Sheri. Yes you may use the picture anytime.. I was wondering if you had any rain yet.. We've actually had to much.Hugs and love to you.
DeleteHi Susie, your poem is so beautiful and has such an important and wise message. Time always shows us that God answers our prayers in the best most loving ways. Like a loving father, he may not always give us what we think we want at the time, but it always turns out to be just what we truly need. We had another thunderstorm this afternoon. It was a big scary one with lots of wind, hail and lightening. I'm so glad that Barkley isn't scared of the thunder like some dogs, he seems to take it all in stride. I hope you have a nice evening ahead! With Love, Delisa :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Delisa. Yes he surely is there for us through the good and bad. You be safe in those storms. We are having them here too,and they get scary..Hope you have a nice weekend and evening too.
DeleteThank you for sharing the beautiful blessing and inspiration, Susie. Blessings to you!
ReplyDeleteHi Susie, I was just out and about tonight and thought I would pop by and say hello! I hope you are having a nice weekend. Last night we went to a German restuarant with some friends and had a wonderful time. I am enjoying a quiet evening tonight. It is still raining. But thankfully not a big storm like the ones we had last week. A friend of mine came by for a visit friday afternoon and gave me a doll to add to my collection. I think you would really like it. It is a little southern belle from the 1930's and has all her original clothing. It made me think of something you would see on the Waltons tv. show. :) I'm going to try and put some pictures up of it next week. I hope you have a restful evening ahead, I think I am going to knit a little bit and watch an old movie. Have fun! With Love, Delisa :)
ReplyDeleteIt's so nice to hear from you Delisa. I'm so happy to hear you've had a nice weekend. Looks like we are stuck with the rain but we are so much better off than the ones out west. I feel so sorry for them. Hope you enjoy your movie and have a nice evening. I'm looking forward to seeing pictures of that pretty little doll.
DeleteThis was wonderful, Susie~ and your words were just what I needed today. Sometimes when prayers seem to go unanswered, it is hard to hold on and have faith, but HIS promises are true and he delivers the answer in HIS time!
