Let Us Not Forget

Let us not forget the ancient wisdom
With which our ancestors walked their days
Let us carry on with great determination
With a grateful heart, to God we give the praise

Let us not forget the mountains they climbed
In the darkest valleys where they found light
Footprints are abundant down every path
All of their yesterdays can be found in plain sight

Let us not forget the sound of their voice
In the distance they are still calling us home
The place where many a prayer was heard
Shaping our tomorrows until we were grown

Let us not forget the love that was given
All under the same roof, each night at bed
The teachings of God's word, the Bible
Food for our body and soul, we were always fed

Let us not forget the many sacrifices made
Working from sun up until sun down
The love of family, there's no boundaries
How proud we must be of them, so profound

Let us not forget the place from which we came
May our hearts stay humble and proud
And listen to the wisdom of all the ages
Can you hear, the echoes are calling so loud

I hope all of my Blogging friends have had a nice 4th. As for me it was just another day this year. I'm still ailing  and hopefully they're getting closer to finding the root of the problem. Strangest thing I've ever went through and that's sayin alot. But, there's people in far worse shapes and I remind myself everyday. Still praying for ya'll and will get around to visit soon I hope. Blessings, Susie

  1. Another wonderful poem Susie! Thank you!
I really hope that you get all better soon! HUGS!!

  2. Very nice poem, Susie. I hope you start feeling better very soon. <3

  3. Dear Susie, I am praying God makes you feel good again. It's just rough, not knowing what wrong. Once you know what wrong, things can be done to make you feel better. I love your poem. Blessings to you dear friend, xoxo,Susie

    1. Thank you Susie. Yes, it's surely been tough for the past several months. Blessings to you as well. xo

  4. Thanks for this reminder to be grateful. We tend to take too much for granted when everything goes well for us.

Chin up, Susie! "God will take care of you, through every day, all the way".

    1. Thank you Charlotte.. If nothing else I have learned to appreciate good health. We never know when it may be gone.

  5. Oh, Susie, I do hope they find your solution soon! This has gone on long enough. I love the poem, it is so true. There is a whole generation that has not had these things passed on to them that we were so blessed to learn. I pray it's not to late for them to learn.

    1. Thank you Elaine. I sure hope so. I'm just about done in.

  6. I love this poem, Susie. It has so much meaning. I agree with you. We should never forget where we came from. This poem is heart-warming and brings backs so many memories of my childhood.
