Give Me The Little Things

A curtain blowing in the breeze
a bird singing in the trees

A star shining in the night
the sun rising at morning's light

A flower blooming in the spring
                                                      walking in a summer's rain

The glowing light of a firefly
the bright, blue of an autumn sky

A cold and windy, winter's day
                                                      a snowflake slowly melts away

A spoken prayer to God above
a heart full of gratitude and love

  3. They're the most beautiful things, aren't they. There's some truth in them we all see.

  6. I love all these little things! Curtains blowing in the breeze is so homey, and I love watching the changes in the moon, and in spite of all the night lights in the community, there are still a few stars I can see.

  9. Susie,
I loved this poem because to me, the simple things are the most special ones. I often think about those little things that make our days so wonderful. When we see the beauty in the small everyday happenings, then we appreciate so much of this world we live in. Thank you for the sweet poem.

  10. Hi Susie! Another beautiful poem. I love the line about the curtain blowing in the breeze. I love the feeling of sitting in my chair or at the kitchen table and feeling the warm breeze blow in through the window and rustle the curtain. You captured so beautifully the joy of the little things that bring peace and serenity to the heart. This poem is one of my favorites! Have a lovely evening my friend, rest well! Delisa :)

  12. Hi Susie! I was just thinking about you this afternoon and thought I would stop by and say hello! I hope you are having a good weekend so far. We went to a big going away party this afternoon for some friends who are moving to Colorado and I made a huge crock pot full of spaghetti sauce. Tony made 3 lbs. of pasta! I thought for sure that we would be bringing some home to freeze, but they at every bite and scraped the pot clean. It sure made me feel good. :)

We just got home a little while ago and I have been resting my back and watching Sense and Sensibility. I think I am going to have a quiet evening and do some more knitting. I was given a skein of some new yarn last week that has all the colors of a peacock feather, blues, greens and gold with little sparkles woven into the threads. I feel like a little kid with a new toy. :) Have a wonderful and restful evening ahead! Delisa :)
