Happy Mother's Day Mom
Today I wear a white rose
instead of wearing red
in memory of my mother
many tears I have shed
I know she's in heaven
this beautiful Mother's Day
up there with the angels
where roses bloom everyday
The sun is shining brightly
upon her golden crown
when God placed it there
heavenly joys did abound
No more sorrow and pain
her heartaches are all gone
although I miss her so
I know she's finally home
Heaven was made for mothers
around the great, white throne
where angels wait upon them
a deserving trait they own
The bond can not be broken
a mother's love is true
I wish a thousand moments
I could have back brand new
Today I wear a white rose
instead of wearing red
Happy Mother's Day Mom
we'll soon together wear red

DeleteThank you for this, Susie. Even after almost 25 years without my mama, it seems like only yesterday we quilted and sang together. I wish I could be more like she was.
ReplyDeleteThank you for reading it and your sweet words. It doesn't matter how long they've been gone, it feels like yesterday..they'll always be in our hearts..
DeleteHi Susie! I so loved your poem, this was such a special post. I especially liked the white and red rose picture at the bottom too. I have really been missing my mom this week as well. I'm so thankful that I have so many happy memories to remember. They make all the difference in the world. She comes alive again in all these sweet memories. It's funny when I think of Mom I never see her sick or old. She was sick and in pain for so many years but when I go through a photo album and see a picture of her in those days it shocks me because in my heart and mind she is the mom of my girlhood with her long auburn hair. I can almost smell her perfume and feel the way her hand used to intertwine in mine. :) It is such a wonderful blessing. I hope you are having a nice afternoon! With Love, Delisa :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Delisa, just hold on to those wonderful memories..they'll sustain you..I try and not think of the pain and suffering, just the good ones..They are worth more than gold..Hope you're having a nice evening as well..
DeleteReally sweet, Susie! Somehow, we never "get over" missing our Moms, do we? The older I get, the more I can't wait to see her again. Thank you for this beautiful reminder of where these Moms are and that we will see them again someday really soon!
