Happy New Year

                                               Thank you for the flowers
you give to me each day
                                               a blanket of warm sunshine
                                               a smile's brightest ray

A few kind words, I cherish
                                               worth more than any gold
                                               given when much needed
                                               feeds my weary soul

                                              A simple handshake or nod
                                              spreads the fragrance around
                                              lifts my daunting spirits
when I'm low and quite down

                                              A much needed prayer
a rose of elegance and grace
                                              really touches my heart
                                              I humbly accept and embrace

                                              Ever close beside me
                                              beautiful flowers does grow
                                              or many gardens away
                                              by some I hardly know

                                              Thank you for the flowers
you give to me each day
                                              each petal is worth more
                                              than words can ever say

May you all have a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year and let's all pray for a better one as many folks  like myself  have had a rough 2018. Just like last year I probably will not be up to open the door and let the old year out and the new year in and my husband has tried his best to get all the laundry done and the floors swept or we'll sweep and wash all of our treasures away.  lol My mom firmly believed in this and worked very hard on New year's Eve to get it all done so she wouldn't have to on New year's Day. I asked her one time about why she never worried about cooking and washing dishes. She said, " it doesn't matter cause I do that every day of the year anyways". lol Couldn't figure that one out. May God Continue to bless each one of you and I'm still praying for many blogging friends and their family members on here. Blessings, Susie

  1. We used to have black eyed peas on New Year's Day. They told us kids that we would earn as many dollars in the coming year as the number of peas we ate on Jan 1. lol I am thankful for the many blessings of 2018 and I pray for health and peace for you.

  2. I can see why your mom wanted to clear things out before New Years Day. It's kind of like a fresh start to the new year. I hope 2019 brings good health for you, Susie, and I wanted to be sure to come over and say Happy New Year. Your blog friendship means a lot to me. I love that rose, and know how much you appreciate roses too.

    love ya, ~Sheri

  3. Susie, Our mothers were wise beyond their years as we grew up and barely noticed it. I think back on the simple or crazy things my mother had to do to survive and I am now in awe of her knowledge. Their hard lives helped us learn to get by also. Susie, I pray for you always. You are a good friend and blog sister to me. I truly wish we could have blog years ago, don't you? Wishing you and yours the best of new years. You are right we could all use some heaven sent blessings in our 2019. May God be good to you, xoxo, love you, Susie
