My Christmas Card To You

                                                      Every name is a blessing
                                                      upon this list of mine
                                                      somewhere our paths have crossed
                                                      in another place and time

                                                      Perhaps it was years ago
                                                      or only yesterday
but every person on my list
                                                      has changed my life someway

                                                     A simple hug or conversation
                                                     a friendly smile or meal
a spoken prayer to God above
has helped me grow and heal

                                                     Perhaps God went through you
                                                     and wove his magic twine
in some small or kindly deed
to touch this heart of mine

You wished the gray clouds away
                                                     and prayed for rain instead
I raised my eyes to heaven
                                                     and found a rainbow overhead

                                                    Worldly things that trouble me
                                                     just seems to disappear
                                                     knowing you are always there
                                                     across the miles or near

You restore my faith, love and hope
a bond that will never cease
so many wonderful family and friends
brings to me an inner peace

Each day my list continues to grow
and each name I hold so dear
each one has brought Christmas joy
                                                    everyday of the year

This Christmas Card I give to you
is more than just a wish
it's a thank you to God above
for putting you on my list

  9. Oh Susie,
I have tears in my eyes now - tears of joy. I can't believe you just wrote this this year. You have a way with words, my friend. It is a special poem because you mention how maybe God brings us the people in our lives, and I think that is true too. Thank you for being such a dear bloggy friend, and Merry Christmas to you, Susie.

  15. Hi Susie! I was just thinking about you this morning and thought I would stop over and say hello. I hope that you are having a wonderful sunday so far. Our friends fly in tomorrow night from California and will be staying a whole week. I am really excited but a little tired too getting everything ready. I am sure happy about seen them again. It was one of those rare things that happen in life where Tony's best friend and the best man in our wedding, married my best friend. They are more like family to us than most of our real family. Barkley dog is doing much better and the wound on his head is beginning to heal. Poor little guy. The vet said we need to just leave the cone on him for another week. He's being a good sport about it but I know he hates wearing it. It sure was cold this morning about 27 with frost covering everything. They say we might get some rain next week, I hope if this cold weather sticks around that we get a little bit of snow to show our guests. Growing up in California, I have only seen it snow on a couple of occasions so it is still a really big treat for me. But it's one of those things where I want every body home and cozy and not have to be out driving in it! :) I am going to rest as much as I can today and maybe do a little knitting. I have been making hats and fingerless gloves this month. I made a candy apple red set for myself, and I am now working on some gifts for friends. Next month when things calm down a little I'll take some pictures of my new sewing room and post them on the blog. It is so cozy upstairs and the light is really good for sewing, much better than my other room. Have a lovely and peaceful sunday my friend, and until next time... Love Delisa :)
