The older generation saw a lot and had little. I just wish I had listened better and longer to mom and dad and all their friends from my youth. I miss all that now. Blessings to you my sweet friend. xoxo, love you, SusieSusiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06425051654313691986noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7542626754689382068.post-63211713144339443182019-03-20T13:41:04.239-07:002019-03-20T13:41:04.239-07:00love your stories sUSIE

I don't remember who gave them to me; I do know they weren't bought for me. Their images are still in my mind and the old trunk where I kept them in the smokehouse. That old trunk held all my "treasures" and was visited by mice who chewed on the corners of them.

Susie, I appreciated so much the comment you left for me although I'm not blogging right now. I'm fine, just getting older and slower, but still working on the farm with my 78th birthday coming up in less than a month. I'm kept busy with feeding calves at the barn and walking through chickens every day. Mud has been our constant companion all winter.

I'm hoping you'll be able to get out in the sunshine once it gets warmer weather. I think of you every day. Love you Susie.lil red henhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15494641068959278096noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7542626754689382068.post-31430007294123571582019-03-11T14:07:50.879-07:002019-03-11T14:07:50.879-07:00These are such nice memories of time spent with yo...These are such nice memories of time spent with your neighbor. I can remember reading the funny papers every Sunday too. My Dad usually shared them with me because he knew I loved them.Conniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03865193802444007545noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7542626754689382068.post-27659657320104172032019-03-09T19:36:01.966-08:002019-03-09T19:36:01.966-08:00Oh, Susie. I had similar days but they were at my Aunt Bessie's house and her enclosed porch had a glider on it with plenty of pillows. I would sit and listen to her as she would sprinkle her clothes with a sprinkler bottle before ironing them. this was a beautiful post, Susie. xo DianaNanaDianahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14298962791700019785noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7542626754689382068.post-87818080260790727642019-03-09T16:45:22.729-08:002019-03-09T16:45:22.729-08:00I can picture you sitting and listening to sweet M...I can picture you sitting and listening to sweet Miss Maude. My older neighbor was Miss Nora. I think she was born in 1880. She told some fascinating stories about the civil war that she had heard from her grandparents. Thanks for sharing your memories. Have a nice Sunday.Karenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12770750648145547973noreply@blogger.com
