A childhood where nature and natural beauty was valued. Even though today's parents may claim that they are giving their children a lot I think what your parents gave you was beautiful.
I hope that you are doing good and I wish you a very happy New Year and hope to see many more posts like this one in future. It is close to my own story. Life was dang hard back then ...but so simple...that any little unexpected gift, or hug, or fun day in the sun was a true blessing. Walking when we were kids was nothing...we just did it and most often barefoot. Bless your sweet heart my friend. xoxo, love, SusieSusiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06425051654313691986noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7542626754689382068.post-45390563794850886292017-01-24T08:54:25.180-08:002017-01-24T08:54:25.180-08:00Susie, you had such a colorful childhood. I love ...Susie, you had such a colorful childhood. I love reading your stories. I bet your grandpa loved the hush puppy shoes you bought him. I'd love to see your grandma's roses. They sound wonderful. I had a few hand-me-down clothes too from my older sister. I loved hearing that you walked a mile or two just to get some candy. And I loved the story of the little plum tree and shaking the tree getting those juicy plums. My uncle used to have a plum tree, and we would get underneath it, shake it, and grab a couple that dropped on the ground. All the fruit was free back then, from relatives and neighbors. My favorite thing on here today is when you said, "An old country girl having lived the good life and praising God until I die".......what a special one you are, and I'm blessed to know you, Susie.

love, ~Sheri
Red Rose Alleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02685747099912989862noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7542626754689382068.post-74028152168787592992017-01-23T16:25:17.210-08:002017-01-23T16:25:17.210-08:00Thanks for sharing more of your precious memories,...Thanks for sharing more of your precious memories, Susie.lil red henhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15494641068959278096noreply@blogger.com
