...Susie, Your poem made me think of Draydon mansion<br />in Charleston. My daughter and I toured it , on our vacation. I love the history, it was saved from Sherman's firey march to the sea. Some one had hung a yellow flag at the end of the road into the mansion...meaning yellow fever, which scared the yankees away. The soldiers hot and tired, falling asleep wherever they happened to sit down, women running back and forth with water and refreshments. These old homes have such stories to tell!
