This brought back so many wonderful childhood memories of my grandmother's spring. I loved your description of drinking from the dipper cold, spring water. That brought back such good memories. So glad you write so beautifully about the good old days. They need to be preserved and you do such a wonderful job writing about the past.Brenda Kay Ledfordhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03077314514118637590noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7542626754689382068.post-19307409081864901292015-03-02T19:49:15.639-08:002015-03-02T19:49:15.639-08:00I love the poem Susie. I remember our cousins has a backyard pump and our cousins in Tenn. fetched water from the spring .into the 60's. I used to tease my daughters about trying to grow potatoes in their ears if they were dirty. LOL. Of course we had modern times. Blessings Susie, I hope everything is going well for you. xoxo,SusieSusiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06425051654313691986noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7542626754689382068.post-5368349582204722742015-02-24T14:55:25.403-08:002015-02-24T14:55:25.403-08:00Thank you Daisy.Thank you Daisy.Susie Swansonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06052734156809316397noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7542626754689382068.post-66726953271691562472015-02-24T14:54:57.383-08:002015-02-24T14:54:57.383-08:00Thank you Elaine. My ...What a great post, and beautiful poem, Susie! My grandparents had a spring across the road from their farmhouse. My grandfather put in a pump, ran a line and they had spring water in the house! You are right - it was the best water in the world, always cold and so clean and fresh. Thanks for the memories!Elaine/Muddling Throughhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07542943000832182111noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7542626754689382068.post-40295418471330928132015-02-23T07:39:22.298-08:002015-02-23T07:39:22.298-08:00Splendid, Susie!! Of course I remember the wash days, and the baths in the wash tub behind the coal heater. You know, we must be cut from the same cotton. :)

Hope you're feeling better!lil red henhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15494641068959278096noreply@blogger.com
